Submitted by on February 17, 2010 – 7:35 amNo Comment

Vancouver houseboatsWith the 2010 Winter Olympics in full swing, people around the planet are getting a good look at the host city, Vancouver.

And if you think it looks like a pretty good place to live, you’re not alone.

The Economist Intelligence Unit recently ranked Vancouver as the most liveable city in the world.

Two other Canadian cities — Toronto and Calgary — also scored in the top 5.

Among the factors that led to Vancouver’s top ranking are the region’s stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and general infrastructure.

According to the EIU survey, the World’s Top 10 Most Liveable Cities are:

  1. Vancouver, Canada
  2. Vienna, Austria
  3. Melbourne, Australia
  4. Toronto, Canada
  5. Calgary, Canada
  6. Helsinki, Finland
  7. Sydney, Australia
  8. Perth, Australia
  9. Adelaide, Australia
  10. Auckland, New Zealand
