Pay what you want for lunch in Montreal

Photo courtesy of Taverne CrescentWith everyone watching their pennies these days, a Montreal restaurant has come up with a creative approach to bringing in business — the “Pay What You Want” lunch.

Between 11 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday, Taverne Crescent (1433 rue Crescent, tel. 514/845.1888) is letting its customers decide what their lunches are worth. Patrons choose their meal from the daily fixed menu, and when they’re done, they pay what they like.

We’re waiting to see what other creative strategies restaurants across Canada are taking to keep people dining out. In the meantime, you can read more about Taverne Crescent’s idea at www.hour.ca.
