Eating on the street will get more interesting in Toronto this spring, 今ã€å¸‚ãŒæ‰¿èªã—ãŸã“㨠a new street food program called “Toronto A La Cart.”
The city announced that eight vendors, selling everything from pad Thai to jerk chicken to bulgogi, 町ã®å‘¨ã‚Šã®åº—をセットアップã—ã¾ã™. Although Toronto has a wealth of ethnic eateries, its street food offerings have thus far been limited to variations on the lowly hot dog. And while eight new food carts serving a metropolitan-area population of more than five million seems a bit, ã‚‚, ã¾ã°ã‚‰ãª, any increase in street-food options is a souvlaki in the right direction.
The new Toronto A La Cart foods and their locations will include:
- Mel Lastman Square — Thai — Pad Thai with fresh rolls
- Metro Hall — Afghani/Central Asian — Chapli kebabs
- Nathan Phillips Square — Central Asian/Persian — Biryani
- Nathan Philips Square — Greek — Souvlaki
- Queen’s Park — Middle Eastern — Chicken/beef kebab wraps
- Roundhouse Park — Eritrean — Injera
- ヤング & Eglinton — Korean — Bulgogi with seasonal kimchi
- ヤング & è–. Clair — “Caribfusion” — Jerk chicken
The official launch date for the new food carts has not been set, but the city says it will post details on the Toronto A La Cart website.
