Buying a home in Quebec’s Eastern Townships
Ang New York Times kamakailan itampok ng bahay para sa sale near the village of Knowlton sa Quebec rehiyon na kilala bilang Eastern Townships.
Ayon sa Beses artikulo, “The housing stock in the Eastern Townships is mostly old farms that have been converted to weekend estates or small hobby farms….The area is popular as a second-home destination with New Englanders.”
Here’s an introduction to the Eastern Townships from my book, Buhay sa ibang bansa sa Canada:
Silangan ng Montreal, along the border with Vermont, Eastern Townships (Les Cantons de l’Est) pakiramdam tulad ng New England, sa kanilang rodilyong burol, quaint villages, pagawaan ng gatas sakahan, and family-friendly ski resorts, but they’re definitely francophone. And if you’re partial to good wines, hearty bistro cooking, at lokal na keso, this francophone influence is a good thing.
…The Eastern Townships’ largest city is Sherbrooke, tungkol sa 150 kilometro (95 milya) silangan ng Montreal sa kahabaan ng Highway 10. Kung hindi, the communities here, kasama Magog, Knowlton, at Sutton, medyo maliit.
If you’re considering life in the Eastern Townships, an excellent English-language resource is the Townshippers’ Association, which provides links to a wide range of information and services across the region.

Good luck!
